Forgot to wear a bra!

Really embarrassing but I’ve left the house without a bra. I was feeding baby and forgot to put it back on. I’m with DH viewing houses and it’s really embarrassing! What can I do? Don’t have DS with me so can’t even hold him to cover myself.

it’s very obvious as they’re dangling down to my tummy

Just cross your arms.

Plutoisaplanet · 08/07/2022 13:32

Go back home and get one or if you are too far from home pop into a supermarket and grab a temporary replacement.

ScarlettSunset · 08/07/2022 13:33

Well there's no law that anyone HAS to wear a bra so don't worry about it unless it's painful

ThreeLittleDots · 08/07/2022 13:34

Nobody will care, and if they do it's none of your business!

Temporary? The op won’t be able to return it. That’s not what you’re suggesting?

BlackberrySky · 08/07/2022 13:38

Crack on with your day, don't highlight it by feeling self conscious and go find that house!

AlisonDonut · 08/07/2022 13:41

I've not work a bra since the start of lockdown 1.

TheBikiniExpert · 08/07/2022 13:45

You don't have to wear a bra! As ling as you also have a top on, don't worry!

TheBeesKnee · 08/07/2022 13:47

Let them run free and wild!

DayreeMilk · 08/07/2022 13:50

No bra here, the postman seems fine with it.

Swearwolf · 08/07/2022 14:00

Everyone saying you don't need to wear a bra - no, of course you don't, but OP clearly feels uncomfortable without one. I wouldn't want to walk around town and have to look people in the eye knowing my boobs were visibly loose either. And if she's breastfeeding, there is the added chance of leakage and discomfort.

I would second running into a supermarket for a stretchy crop top type bra. Obviously you would have to keep it but they aren't super expensive and can be useful for sleeping etc. Just pull it down to feed.

LonelyInAutumn · 08/07/2022 14:01

Honestly being braless is great. I haven't worn one for about three years. As someone above said, let them run wild and free 🙌🏽

Of course I’m not suggesting she return it merely that it just needs to be a basic one to get her through the day

Harridance · 08/07/2022 14:04

If she's breast-feeding she probably ly should be supporting her breaststroke, have you got a spare item of clothing that you can make into a kind of bandeau?

Harridance · 08/07/2022 14:04

*breasts not breast stroke!

Whatwouldscullydo · 08/07/2022 14:06

Some women don't like bras soke don't feel comfortable without one and even sleep in one. I'm.with the op on this id feel awful too.

I dont think buying a bra is the answer for unfortunately as with clothes and shoes just picking up your size is usually not successful. You'd have to try on. And that could take a while.

Id compromise a bit. Pick up a sports top /bra or bralette/crop top of some kind.

Or failing that go to asda or whatever and pick up a cheap bikini. They usually come in dress sizes. Might be a bit easier.

WonderingWanda · 08/07/2022 14:07

Op I feel your pain. I hate my breasts without a bra (actually I hate them in a bra too). They droop and make me look like I'm in my 90's. Not to mention if I attempt to run. In fact running is a no go in anything short of an industrial sports bra which inhibits my breathing. I envy anyone who can feel OK not wearing a bra.....I can remember it being fine in my 20's pre children / breastfeeding. All I can suggest is keeping your arms folded as much as possible

Redcrayons · 08/07/2022 14:10

I’d hate this too. I never leave the house without a bra on and I’m rarely in the house without a bra.

can you find somewhere to buy a tight vest top?

bumpytrumpy · 08/07/2022 14:12

I'd go to a supermarket and buy one!

BlueStarfish · 08/07/2022 14:26

I can relate I've missed the bus more than once as I had to walk back home because I'd forgotten to wear one.

girlfriend44 · 08/07/2022 14:45

Cross your arms.

5zeds · 08/07/2022 14:57

Just don’t think about the baby

LikeAStar1994 · 08/07/2022 15:06

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Bras are nothing but "Titty Prisons"

I rarely wear one. My comfort is far more important than people's opinions.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 08/07/2022 15:08

I fail to see the issue. I haven't worn a bra for years. Are you wearing a see through top or something?

seaUrchinOne · 08/07/2022 15:14

Wet patches are a risk when breast feeding, I think I'd go back home or a buy a cardi
