To never attend a mixed swimming session again?

Went to a ladies only lane swim session. Mostly 55+ but a few in their 30s like me.

It was amazing.

Everyone was polite, made room for each other, stuck to appropriate speed lanes, said hello but we mostly politely ignored each other in the sauna/steam room.

No loud men trying to chat to you or over-taking.

Absolute fucking bliss.

I've given up entirely and swim in the sea. The fish and jelly fish are much more polite than humans.

Don't have women only sessions at my local pool but I'd go to them if they did, though I'm not really bothered by men at the pool, they aren't really into trying to chat over here. I long to one day go to the women only session at a pool in Helsinki where you can swim naked. So much nicer swimming naked.

Definitely the better option! I don't live near the sea but I mostly swim in the lake instead, nicer, no chlorine stink, and if I'm lucky its nice and quiet.

My typical experience of Too close = getting scratched & kicked by breaststrokers ... possibly in another lane !

Theres nothing worse than being kicked in the stomach by a breastroke swimmer in the next lane! How do they manage to take up so much room so that their legs actually come under the lane rope so as to kick people?
