I get calls for work from different agencies in the morning. I’m registered with 3. Two of them call me and if I say I’m unavailable or have accepted another job the conversation ends and I am ready to get on with sorting the kids out and getting ready to leave.

Now one of them he calls, I repeat same info but he interrogates me and makes me uncomfortable by asking lots of questions like where it is, which agency etc. etc. this often makes me really uncomfortable not to mention the time it wastes in trying to get out of the house and drop the kids off then going up the job.

how round you respond? I’m the type of person who cannot leave the phone ringing and answer it even when inconvenient for me. I have my reasons which I don’t want to derail thread for but I get extreme anxiety about leaving calls and messages unanswered

Apologies for typos.

Hmm, he sounds really pushy.
Could you tell the agency that you'd prefer to deal with someone else?

mycatisannoying · 08/07/2022 08:49

Or maybe leave that particular agency? You sound rather overwhelmed being involved with 3.

Anonymous774 · 08/07/2022 08:51

@mycatisannoying hrs the owner of that agency. Yes he is really pushy.

Just leave that agency.

balalake · 08/07/2022 08:54

Would you get enough work if your deregistered with that agency? If you do, at least say why.

Just leave that agency.

This.

Or when he starts, say "Sorry - not prepared to give those details. Goodbye!"

NoSquirrels · 08/07/2022 08:54

Leave that agency. Sounds like you have enough work - vote with your feet.

Fairyliz · 08/07/2022 08:57

Just say sorry got to go in a bright breezy voice and put the phone down. You don’t owe him any explanation and one day you might need the work he can offer.

SadFace2 · 08/07/2022 08:59

I would just say something along the lines of "sorry, can't stay on the phone, have a million things to do, thanks for calling".

hopeishere · 08/07/2022 09:47

If you've accepted work that day don't answer?
