Nose piercing (interview)

Hi all

I have a nose piercing (ring) that I have recently has done. I have an interview on Monday for a receptionist job. Would you take the nose ring out for the interview? Or keep it in and say you would
be happy to remove it if you got the job? I think it would heal over quickly as I only had it done a month ago.

Same. It would put me off, especially if you are in a client facing role as it might make clients feel the same. I say this as someone from a culture where this is very much the done thing for women.

Hopefully you never ever need to interview anyone then. Because if you do and you'd be put off by a piercing then you shouldn't be in a role where you interview

Take the ring off for interview then put it back in if you get the job. I have a nose ring and about 6 piercings on each of my ears.

I wouldn't take it out, I've hired professional and admin staff with nose piercings, also property industry

Unfortunately I had to take my nose ring out when I get a job in the food manufacturing. I missed it at first but now I prefer myself without it.
Other jobs interviews I always left it in- had it done since I was 16 and still got the job. They didn't even mention it.

I think people have misread and misunderstood my post. I wouldn't have a problem employing anyone with facial piercings. I'm no oil painting and would hope that someone would employ me on the basis of my ability to do my job, and I would employ the same reasoning if I was interviewing.

I just don't find facial piercings attractive in any way. They don't make me feel sick either @123InTheSky Hmm

As someone who regularly has to blow their nose the idea of a nose ring just makes me think yuck.

You realise how nose rings work? Most of them are not full rings that run through so have absolutely zero effect on nose blowing.

I find it annoying that in 2022 we still have to worry about stuff like this. We spout on about being accepting of everyone but still have to worry about a piece of jewellery!

I wouldn't even mention it, to be honest. I certainly wouldn't take it out.

I've had my nose pierced for over a decade and have never had an issue with wearing it for interviews or while at work.
