@willstarttomorrow I know what you mean, the first time I visited Sheffield I was amazed at how much was packed in there! It was like London, but friendlier and easier to get around (although I quickly learned a lesson when I once decided to take the car there!).
I don't think I've even seen half of Yorkshire and I've lived here for years.

I’m from the north, live down south (not far from Wimbledon) and my children have a southern accent. I much prefer it. I think professionally you’re taken more seriously with a southern accent. Not that affects you no doubt judging by your spelling, unless you’ve just had one too many Pimms at Wimbledon

Why on earth would I want to - the 70 somethings I live near have put me off anything remotely conencted with that county for life.

Obviously nowhere near as sophisticated as the home counties where nothing happens and you have to get a train into London for any action (I was moved to Guildford aged 8, it took many years to emotionally move on from this).
