We're a low income family. How are other similar income families faring? How are you coping?! We were doing okay but this last few weeks, I feel that our money is just disappearing and I've only spent on essentials.

I'm going to ask manager if I can increase my hours again. She has already refused a few months ago. I feel ill need to get a weekend job or something. We will be okay for a few months to a year but long term, I'm going to get depressed.

There comes a point where you really can't cut back any further than you have been doing, doesn't there?

Hoping that we can all hang in there long enough until things get better? We won't starve, I have a sack of rice in the cupboard etc and since covid started, whenever there was an offer on something I bought two and put it in the aptly named 'Zombie Apocalypse Cupboard'.

Along with scouring for bargains on Approved Foods. I don't buy cosmetics for myself anymore mainly because when my skin cream came up there - it was out of date but still fine - I bought ten of them for ten per cent of the price it costs usually.

Exactly. I already budget within an inch of my life as it is and my idea of "fun" stuff is buying a bar of chocolate!

I know lots of families who are very well off and when they talk about the increase in price I just can't relate. They are able to absorb the increase or cutting back means not buying as much wine or going on one holiday instead of 2 !
