Would this be ok for a wedding guest, or too bride-y bridesmaid-y?

I probably won't buy it, as if I have to check, it means I'll still stress about it not being ok 🥴... But still interested in people's thoughts. Suitable for a wedding guest? This dress

It clearly says the dress is pink

I’m not keen on it OP but I think it’s fine for a wedding guest.

I once wore a cream dress to a wedding, it was a yellowy cream colour, layered and knee length. It looked nothing like anything a bride would wear, never occurred to me not to wear it due to it being cream so what do I know.

I'm seeing my friend in a couple of weeks, just ask her if she was offended by my dress at her wedding Blush

Arenanewbie · 04/07/2022 22:18

It doesn’t look very bride-y or bridesmaid-y, you will be ok with coloured accessories as PPs suggested. I wonder how white/ creamy it looks in reality maybe not at all.
It might look a bit too casual without bright accessories it’s my only concern.

DappledThings · 04/07/2022 22:44

Totally fine, and a very nice dress.

CounsellorTroi · 04/07/2022 22:54

It’s a lovely dress and it certainly does not look too casual to me. I’d feel overdressed wearing that in a beer garden. Do some people wear formal evening wear to weddings?

vanillarum · 04/07/2022 22:57

If the DOC could wear cream to the DOS wedding, you can wear this no problem

Luredbyapomegranate · 04/07/2022 22:59

It’s totally fine

Dogscanteatonions · 04/07/2022 23:06

I wouldn't. Hope and Ivy have so many stunning dresses you can easily pick another. I wore their Frankie dress to a wedding as a guest recently and it was perfect.

It's not about it not looking like a brides dress, it's the rule of not wearing white or cream. I wouldn't wear that to a wedding.

Oh for goodness sake!! There is no "rule" about wearing white or cream, it's utter rubbish. Some of you are so old fashioned in your views.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 04/07/2022 23:17

I think it is absolutely fine. It’s clearly not a bride or bridesmaid’s dress.

it’s really nice too!

Boxowine · 04/07/2022 23:18

I think it's perfect. Would you wear a hat with it?

Footbal · 04/07/2022 23:18

I love it

SirChenjins · 04/07/2022 23:21

It’s absolutely fine - gorgeous dress and nothing like a bridesmaid’s or bride’s frock.

Kite22 · 04/07/2022 23:21

I think it would be lovely for a guest to wear to a wedding.

Doesn't look at all 'bridal' or 'bridesmaind-y'

WimpoleHat · 04/07/2022 23:23

I think it’s fine - especially if you wear coloured shoes/cardigan etc with it.

Runnerduck34 · 04/07/2022 23:24

I think it looks lovely, with some bright accessories it will look more colourful, less white, and it will be fine.

anybloodyname · 04/07/2022 23:24

Love it !

caringcarer · 04/07/2022 23:26

It might be hot and sticky as 100 percent of polyester.

Tryingmyb3st · 04/07/2022 23:35

I've been to a casual wedding and the bride was wearing a version of this (think hers was from Monsoon). Steer clear unless you know the bride is going down the traditional/formal route or is chilled about her guests clothing choices!

RaininginDarling · 04/07/2022 23:44

No bride wants to look like one of the guests at their own wedding. I think its pretty bad form to wear white/cream to a wedding unless stated otherwise. It's why I ended up choosing ivory, for my non trad dress for my (casual) wedding next year.

EnterACloud · 04/07/2022 23:51

I was looking at my friend’s wedding pics today and she was wearing almost that exact dress!

Spookysparkles · 05/07/2022 00:03

Too white and long IMO, I would personally avoid for a wedding. Lovely otherwise though!

sofamystery · 05/07/2022 00:17

Too close to white for me, theres not enough colour to break it up. Its also very similar to a lot of in fashion wedding dresses
I know 2 people this year that have got married in very similar (just slightly longer)
