To think this maybe aimed at me?

I take ds to a class for 0 to 4 year old music etc. He's one of the oldest but still likes going. He's not shy! Anyway today one of the nans brought her 2.5 year old granddaughter. She said she hasn't been for a while as alot of the bigger kids are boisterous and her granddaughter was scared because she's shy. My DS is one of the oldest so I did feel it was aimed at me/us. I didn't respond tbh.
The class is aimed at both their ages so they obviously both have a right to be there but it was a bit uncomfortable

If she wants to say something to you, she needs to tell you straight, and make sure you've understood.

You need to learn that it's not your responsibility to try to work out people's passive aggressive, veiled comments. If it's not clearly said to you, you simply don't need to worry about it. People can think what they like. They can be critical if they want to. It doesn't matter.

Whether or not it’s aimed at yours, I think it was put quite nicely and as she mentioned her granddaughter is shy, doesn’t put all the blame on another child.
I wouldn’t take it personally. But as it’s a music class with very small children and babies, it’s worth trying to encourage him to not run around so much!

Is he supposed to be running round at the music class? He is 4, so I would expect him to be modelling the expected behaviour by that age. (Most of the time, if NT, as long as the class is age appropriate etc etc!)

Some kids are just better suited to different classes. If it's a structured class where you're expected to sit and do the activities then I probably wouldn't take a child that was just going to run about as that seems fairly pointless for all involved. I'd take them to a less structured free play group instead where they can run about properly, We stopped doing 'sit and listen' classes with DD for a while because she just wanted to be mobile and stuck to the playgroup in the local hall and stuff instead.
