Tips for having Covid and living alone

Hi there,

I've been down bad all this week.

On Tuesday, I woke up feeling like I had bricks thrown on my head, headache was around my eyes aswell and I slept on and off throughout the day.
I had hot and cold flushes with sweating.

On Wed - same but also woke up with a sore throat, developed a chesty cough, difficult to swallow., appetite completely gone. Lack of energy

On Friday, developed a sneeze
Today (Sat), slept badly, coughing violently which led to at one point feeling I was going to vomit, went to the toilet to be sick and instead had a nosebleed. In the evening, lost taste - moreso with liquids.

So did a test tonight and I've tested positive for Covid.

I rarely get ill but suffer with migraines occasionally so thought it was an extended migraine or something, but the loss of taste was clearly a giveaway for Covid.

Has anyone got tips for dealing with this on their own? It's really tough.

I have groceries being delivered tomorrow, and have asked a friend to check in with me...

It's rough as hell.

I had it in April and I live completely alone. The first 4 days were the roughest and then I felt much better. I didn’t get very bad symptoms but I felt dizzy all the time and just really, really tired. Sleep all you can. Try to stick to normal schedules (get 8 hours overnight, etc) but honestly, just don’t feel like you need to be doing much outside of that.

I was too tired to cook the first 5/6 days so I made oven dinners or got takeaways. Lots of really filling carby food did the trick for me. Maybe not with the vomiting though.

Air the house / flat every morning and every evening. Fresh air is good and you’ll also feel a bit more ‘outside’ just by keeping your windows open for a couple of hours each day.

Spread out the Netflix / Kindle / phone usage as I found it didn’t help my headache much. Get a few new books or just put a podcast on to give your eyes a break.

Meant to say, that 4 days after my positive test. I too had been a bit ill for a couple of days beforehand which I put down to stress / work hours / migraines. All in all I had noticeable symptoms for 6-7 days and was clear on tests by day 9 (day 7 post symptoms).

I had Covid last week and live on my own. Family and friends all offered help but as I had not long had a food order delivered I got by. Although I didn't feel like eating in those first few days so I stayed hydrated and just slept or shuffled around the house. I used online delivery service when I started to get my appetite back. Given that I had bad gastric problems throughout it was quite nice to be able to use the bathroom as and when without having to consider another person.
