To need a side hustle

NeedMoreMoneyMoney · 02/07/2022 13:59

I'm struggling financially due to my child's nursery fees going up along with all the other living expenses going up.

I work part time as a counsellor about 20 hours a week. I can't do anymore as it's very draining but time wise I can do another day or two of work.

I don't know what though. I feel like I've got so many restrictions due to my skill set. I can't deliver training or do group therapy as I struggle socially with groups.

Please can you give me some ideas for a side hustle or part time work. It doesn't have to be related to counselling.

Thanks! And sorry for posting in aibu for traffic.

Write and deliver a course and upload to Udemy or the like and make passive income.

LaurieFairyCake · 02/07/2022 16:36

Um.... put your prices up?

I work as a self employed counsellor and charge £70 an hour. I also do 20 hours a week which works out once costs are deducted (before tax of £4,000 a month)

@Pulltherugoutfast where do you find the advert rating work?

I do surveys on Attapol - this is my referral code. attapoll.app/join/umbfq Make about £50 a month for a few hours per week, usually when I'm watching tv or on the bus, so dead time.

I really need to look at some freelancing admin work to fit around my new job but not sure where to start.

I was thinking about babysitting. Does anyone know if I would need things like a dbs check, first aid certificate and insurance?

AuntieMarys · 02/07/2022 16:42

If you look on Martin Lewis website, he has some suggestions for research groups. Also Google ones in your area...I got some of mine from FB.
I do everything on Zoom

I went with Lionbridge for the advert rating, but also Appen do some, it's pretty fun and easy I found

@Izzabellasasperella I think most parents would want a DBS and first aid as a minimum

Nichelette · 02/07/2022 17:05

Prolific surveys pay okay. Matched betting has been my best earner but less lucrative now. An easy few hundred if you understand how it works, but don't touch it if you don't.

Takeaway driver. My friends DH works full time and delivers for a Chinese takeaway on a Friday night. He earns 200 euro which pays for their weekly shop and a couple of bottles of wine.
