Grinding tiles off bathroom walls

I live in an area with strict noise rules - construction noise only 9am - 2pm on Saturdays. (8-6 weekdays, not at all on a Sunday).

The restrictions for our building are even tighter - according to our leases (leasehold building) work should be done 9-5 Mon-Fr only except in an emergency but the mgt company don't enforce that strictly. Instead they ask anyone planning work to inform them and put a stairwell notice up to inform other residents.

There was a reminder sent round about this process about 3 weeks ago as another BTL landlord ignored it and had contractors in causing lots of disruption.

I was woken this morning at 07:50 by lots of grinding/ sawing/ drilling type noises.. When I tracked the noise down it is another property that is having the bathroom tiles removed. The noise continued until after 11am.

There is no stairwell notice and the management company haven't been informed.

AIBU to be really cross with the owners. They don't live here as it is a BTL and they ruined my long lie after a busy week at work.

No it's out of order and typical selfish behaviour.

Some noise is unavoidable in a flat but you can still try and be as reasonable as you can. When I was renovating my flat i knew it was going to be noisy. Even though we were only working in permitted hours I informed all my neighbours well in advance of when things were happening and aimed for minimum disruption round night shifts, celebrations etc. We have excellent relationships as a result.

Thank you @Seaography .

Owner (it's a BTL) is being a dick about it. It's easy to be blasé when you live in a massive detached house.
