Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Courses Do/Don't Work?

So, I am pondering (name changed because I don't want him to find me)... if your partner or ex has attended a Domestic Abuse Course as a Perpetrator (voluntarily or not): did the course (i) change them for the better or (ii) change them for the worse?
Did the charity/organisation follow up on your experience of them in the short term or long term?
I'll start.
My ex was not physical with me but psychological, controlling, financial, and so on. He attended voluntarily to get me back. Result was a perp who knew the all terminology and now all the legal boundaries better. He is more manipulative and can get away with it whilst playing the victim. I have to deal with it.
Organisation running the course - no follow up and not interested in actual outcome.
AIBU to think that they should screen better who can attend? Courses surely benefit some families but do others get a fine tuned abuser who knows how to work their target better?
I didn't get to meet other perpetrator partners so you can't see what's happening with other victims. I'm intrigued.

I don't know personally, but I think I read Lundy said they were more of a hindrance than a help. Good luck, and I hope someone else can be of more use than me.

I don't believe a perpetrator can or will ever change. They are clever and calculating.

Thanks - I have my suspicions that the outcome isn't as good as it sounds. If the abusers stop being violent that can statistically 'look' like a success. Charity gets funding and government looks productive. If perpetrators are learning to be cleverer, victims have nowhere to turn 😕
