Hi am taking wheelchair ( pushed not electric) person on holiday .. last min plan. I wondered( tho I will try research) If anyone knows any places that are wheelchair friendly please.. not too rough ground.. we cant do the cliffs but could do trails.. i think there is the camel trial down there.. it would be a massive help is anyone knows of a cluster of things to do that fit this brief.. like some trails, accessible beaches , woods with flat tracks etc . . Nice villages.. I dont know the area and want to make it special plus not a struggle. Thank you .

Both are terribly hilly and full of hazards to a wheelchair user to be honest.

Does Euan's Guide provide some idea? www.euansguide.com

I'm based in East Devon where a lot of people move in retirement. Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Sidmouth and Seaton have promenades next to the beach which are wide and flat. There are always people with reduced mobility there, especially on sunny days.

If you are a member of the National Trust, their information on wheelchair accessibility is pretty good. Killerton House and garden would be fine. We also took MiL to Bicton Gardens (not NT) in a wheelchair and whilst there are a couple of steep paths, it is not bad at all.

You are welcome to PM me about specific places in the Exeter/East Devon area if that's easier.

There's a brilliant Facebook group where you'll get loads of info:
