After a bit of advice on this please, as I'm not sure where to go from here...
I ordered a pair of shoes online from Debenhams for a day out tomorrow, and paid £35 plus next day delivery. They arrived today and are nice enough, but the label on the bottom of the shoes says £22!
It's definitely not a 'reduced' or 'sale' label, it's very much standard and on the bottom of both shoes, where you would expect.
I contacted customer services who tell me that this was an old label from when they pulled stock back from their stores, and they apologise for any confusion. They have also said that I could send them back for a refund (excluding the delivery cost, as there was another item on the order) if I want to.
I don't really want to return them as they're needed for tomorrow, but am I being unreasonable to ask for a refund of the difference?
I'm aware that they're not legally obliged to sell at an advertised price, but pretty miffed that they think it's ok to up the price by over 45%. It feels really deceptive. But then, I still ordered them when I thought the price was £35!
Grateful for any advice on how to argue this, or just a bit of perspective if I am being unreasonable!
