Quickly developing rash on toddler

Shamelessly posting for traffic sorry.

I was asked to pick my son up from nursery this afternoon as he had developed a rash and been sick.

There was absolutely nothing on him when I dropped him off at around 9am, he was his usual self, and nursery said they didn't see it starting until later on in the morning they rang me at 12 at which point it was just starting up his back but he'd also been sick. In the space of a few hours he now has a rash like this on his back, all the way up his arms and legs (not much on his front so far though).

He does have rashes when he has viral infections but not seen one develop this quickly before and they always seem more pin prickly if that makes sense? Whereas this seems a bit more bunched together/bigger spots.

It is blanching and he still seems okay in himself and hasn't been sick since. Hold off calling the doctor?

Could it be an allergic reaction to something maybe? I'd probably call doctor/111 for advice- they may say to try antihistamine first and if that doesn't work then want to see him. I use to get rashes like this when my hayfever was really bad. If you're worried though just call your docs or 111. X

Rash and vomit but otherwise well was my child’s reaction to a food they were allergic to - has he had anything new/different to eat today?

I think it would be reasonable to call your GP or 111.

111 not MN

Not that I know of but it was nap time at nursery when I picked him up so I didn't get chance to ask what he'd had for lunch, I will ring them to see thanks.

Will try 111 also, they always just seem to send me to the GP/ out of hours though whenever I've rang about him in the past.

It's non blanching and he seems ok. Hold that thought while you call 111. Do you know what he ate. Worth a call to nursery if you don't.

111

I'd give some Piriton if he's over 1 and monitor. If it doesn't ease I'd speak to the GP or pharmacist.
