Would you complain about this? (Nursery related)

Evening
when I picked DD up from nursery today they said she had ‘a bit of a sore bottom’ from doing a poo and not telling them, so it had been there a while.
got her home, stripped her off for her bath and my god! Her bum was raw, with a very red sore patch on her thigh. Not only this, she still had a large amount of poo in her bum crack and a smear up her back. She clearly hadn’t been changed properly, or she was upset and they had just given up. Not only this but she came home the other week with poo inside her leggings (not a small smear but a large stain). The nappy was clean so they’d obviously changed it and put her back in the soiled leggings. I’m very averse to complaining in general or starting ‘grudges’, would you say I should complain? TIA

Ours would never put a child back in soiled leggings. Even if the child had run out they’d use spares or borrow them from another child.

My first used to have quite toxic poos when she was teething- it honestly used to look like she’d had a chemical burn after the tiniest bit of time. Could yours be having molars coming though? She might not have been left that long. At ours they put in a regime where they would check super regularly over and above usual nappy checks. You’ll want them to be doing extra checks tomorrow if she’s there and still sore as you don’t want it to get worse.

yellow metaniam is what you need.

When I worked in a nursery, I would check on children like this to make sure they weren't sitting in soiled nappies. At the very least, cleaning and dressing them properly is basic. You should complain.

I work in a nursery and there is no excuse for not cleaning a child properly, even if she was upset you would call another staff member to distract while you finished. I would definitely raise it.

Thank you all
i emailed the nursery outlining what had happened and the soiled leggings and asked them to take more care in changing her
if anything happens again I’ll be going in to speak to management
