AIBU to pick the collective brain of MNers?

I love working with people, problem solving, lots of variety, I'm very creative, and a good writer and presenter. I pick up new topics quickly. Uni educated with a strong academic record.

Not interested in financial services, anything unethical, or anything requiring years and years of study as can't afford to get into debt. Want something with reasonable career and pay prospects too.

Would love to know what you think would suit me!

What kind of creative? Problem-solving creative? Visual arts creative? Words?

Project management?

Another vote for tech here, business analysis, product owner, UX designer.

I am familiar with all these role and would say UX is probably more creative,

Look on the site w4mp there’s lots of jobs for charities, thinktanks, trade organisations and professional bodies across things like policy, outreach, lobbying and the like.

I know it’s not what you asked OP but what experience do you have?

At the end of the day most jobs will want to see relevant experience rather than what you’re good at. Unless you’re willing to start at the very very bottom of something competing with the 21 year olds and doing the grunt stuff.

Law?
There are so many different branches. Depending what your degree is in and what kind of experience you have you might find an entry level job easily.

Thanks. Do you work for a charity doing this?

No, I currently work in the public sector but have previously worked for third sector organisations. The job is very varied and there are lots of different roles within comms. Sometimes I find myself working in very strategic initiatives that require a lot of thinking and planning. Other days I'm having conversations with our social media officer about TikTok videos. There's lots of brainstorming for ideas for campaigns and you need to have excellent writing skills and be able to adapt your writing style for the audience.

Internal comms is my specialism, which I really love as there's so much opportunity to help shape culture and drive change.

There's so me interesting charity roles out there, but it's worth bearing in mind that salaries are normally lower.
