To think my eyebrows looks atrocious?

seekingsomethingg · 19/06/2022 23:26

I had them laminated and she put tint on the bottom section, the rest is just my natural colour.

They look like huge snails with a massive block colour right?

All I want is slim eyebrows but every beautician is obsessed with keeping my brows huge.

@seekingsomethingg ,
I’m not a qualified Beauty Therapist or Eye Brow expert but I know a bit about eye brows just through my own experiences and you Don’t need to panic trust me.
You only panic when you have hardly any brows left or you have had them tattooed and they look like caterpillars.

Your brows look fine but in my opinion they need a good trim and shape, maybe get them threaded but you need to go to a reputable Beauty Salon were they are busy and you can check out their reviews online.

You only need a tidy up
x

teezletangler · 20/06/2022 00:40

I think they look completely fine in the second pic, nice even. Then again I don't know what lamination is or understand any of the debate/argument happening on this thread.

321user123 · 20/06/2022 00:48

I thread and laminate my own brows as needed (I.e. don’t do both at the same time)
you might be able to achieve what your looking for by threading one thin line above your arch (arch towards tail only) and trim (cut) by about 1 mm the hairs that go from nose to middle or brow.
that would make it look thinner without touching the underneath hairs.

I do think that the reason is seems worse than it is is because she hasn’t done any trimming of the hair in the “straight” portion making it look messy.

The other problem is, you seem to have that gorgeous shape and thick brow that everyone is after, hence you have everyone telling you the brows are gorgeous and no one wanting to touch them.
Including me. I really like them and I think they suit your face.
but you don’t like them and that’s what matters.
try the above and see it it helps.

p.s. You’re not crazy, I can see the transition between the two colours but I had to squint a bit and it will fade in a bit.
Use H&S or another dandruff shampoo on the brows and it may help fade the colour quicker.

avamiah · 20/06/2022 00:49

@teezletangler

Your not alone as I’ve never heard of lamination with regard to eye brows either.🤣

SunflowerGardens · 20/06/2022 00:51

I like them but agree threading is your best bet if you like thinner brows.

CapMarvel · 20/06/2022 00:58

They look fine, but then again I find the idea of people spending money on their eyebrows to be one of the more baffling beauty treatments. I can't say I've ever paid the slightest bit of attention to anybody elses eyehair in my entire life.

pixie5121 · 20/06/2022 01:03

I think they're absolutely fine. Mine are like that. I even have the same issue as you with one arched and one not, and that's part of the reason I don't go too thin. I don't see what the issue is tbh...I think they look good.

THEDEACON · 20/06/2022 01:10

Some of us have extremely bushy, thick eyebrows. It takes me forever to pluck them and get the right shape and they grow back really fast as well. I don't spend money on any other beauty treatments regularly, but eyebrows are a must.

People who get their eyebrows done (along with a lot of other treatments) don’t do it to appease others.

🤣🤣 imagine being the type of person that feels the need to leave comments like this.

I already said they were atrocious, I FaceTimed a friend and we were laughing so much about them. I almost felt the need to tell a barista that “I didn’t condone this” whilst pointing at my brows.

Oh well I can shave my whole brows off if I wanted to but you’re stuck with being a miserable cock.

I get my eyebrows done and my nails and my hair coloured and cut because I want to and it makes me feel good.

You’d be amazed at how much eyebrows can change an entire face. Look at Kim. They frame your face and can make you look more out together.

Please just come and do my brows as I could never master any of that myself.

No don’t shave them off😂😂😂

Honestly OP they look fine! It’s not a permanent treatment, they might grow on you! (No pun intended)

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 20/06/2022 01:29

They don't look bad to me but then I hardly have any so have microblading.

It's amazing how much difference eyebrows can make

user1477391263 · 20/06/2022 01:30

Yes, it looks awful.

Look for an older beautician who remembers the days before bizarre huge slug eyebrows, if you don't think you can do it yourself with a pair of tweezers/eyebrow scissors and an eyebrow pencil. Find some pictures online and ask for a slim, simple and natural look.

I really really don't get the weird eyebrows trend nowadays. Aren't people worried about how strange the photos of themselves are going to look in a decade's time? Huge thick brows look dreadful.

Imabouttoexplode · 20/06/2022 01:30

Jesus, you're snippy about bloody brows. You asked for opinions and then bite back when people respond in a perfectly civilised manner. No one was nit picking. Lamination ISNT messy. Its not open to interpretation at all. It's the most precise defining of each hair in an upwards fashion. Yours are messy in the first pic but they're not properly laminated. If the technician who did them called it lamination, then she doesn't understand what it is either.

user1477391263 · 20/06/2022 01:34

By the way, I'm not sure if it's just the photo, but it looks all kind of rough and hairy all along the top, with long hairs sticking out?

I don't understand why a beautician would let you walk out like that.

Get a pair of eyebrow scissors and trim carefully along the top. That alone would improve things a bit!

I have thick brows with long hairs. I make sure I trim along the top carefully, otherwise I look like someone's Uncle Derek with rough hairy brows that are bristling out all over the place!

That’s the lamination look. Mine just aren’t a great example tbh,

Jesus you’re snippy considering it a brow thread and getting vexed over how I (and someone else on the thread) decided to describe something.

Are you the inventor of brow lamination?

My brows look shite. I can laugh at them. Imagine gatekeeping the description of brow lamination and demanding it’s not open to interpretation 🤣🤣

Sadly simple shaping doesn’t work for me. I wish it did. But I’m missing hair that would create an arch for one. I thought I could create the missing part by brushing the hairs up. But still didn’t work.

Beauty therapist here. They look poorly laminated to me, possibly over developed. Shape and colour look nice.

Taking a picture in and asking for the same doesn’t really work like that with brows. You really do have to work with the clients brows, not against. Unless you’re having semi permanent, then you can rework the brow.

bozna · 20/06/2022 02:07

I'd your happy then that's what matters.
I'm not fussed about my eyebrows but occasionally get them waxed and I love them, but surprised how much criticism I get when I haven't plucked or waxed them for a few weeks. Honestly have no idea how a few hairs offends people enough to tell me to sort them out.

I met a friend with a big lip job, not for me but equally her lips she's happy it's not for me to say I don't like them, just be supportive and a decent person
