I know that we always have had newspapers/media outlets who are either supportive of left-wing or right-wing principles but I must say I am increasingly appalled at how journalists and media outlets have failed to report the news in a fairly unbiased way and to me it is starting to smack of censorship.
Thankfully social media is much less ''policed'' and the debate there is much different than what is being shown in mainstream media.
But what do other think about mainstream outlets like the BBC failing to mention Brexit being the cause of many of our current economic woes, muting the sound of booing at the Jubilee from news bulletin for example or a story suddenly being pulled out of the Times between editions as it happened today because they are critical of Johnson and his wife (check Twitter if you don't know what this is about).
This too me is the complete opposite of what a democracy should be like.
Events should be reported accurately, investigative journalism means looking at the causes (Brexit for example) of issues and not simply reporting what the government of the day's line happens to be.
If a media story is incorrect then the people concerned always have the opportunity to take that to the courts.
I am not making this a political right versus left argument, just a comment on the current scourge of client journalism starting to rewrite reality/facts and take us for mugs...
