To dob in the engineer

I had a service engineer come to the house today to repair my cooker hood. He couldn't do it without lifting it away from the wall but he told me he had a bad back and needed to get another 'stronger' engineer out-this is now going to take at least another two weeks and I have already been waiting three weeks. So-do I complain about him or be kind and let it go? I'm ok with not using the hood but it's annoying that I will have to wait in again.

It is only small and the electrician fitted it easily on his own.

If he or his company were so concerned about H&S regs then surely he shouldn't be at work-he is a service engineer fixing dishwashers and washing machines so I doubt I was the only job he couldn't do today. Maybe the heat is getting to me!

What would you want the outcome to be of "dobbing" him in with work

YANBU. He turned up at work with a condition which meant he couldn't even remove a small cooker hood or walk up steps. So he knew he probably wouldn't be doing it. He refused to do it, but I suspect he got some sort of payment for turning up. He knew that even in these WFH days you would be inconvenienced.

So what’s the point if this thread if you’re not going to say anything?
