Thanks for your comment on my post.. the whole thing makes me so angry!

MNHQ are monitoring the thread and they deleted my post originally as they felt my comment about Women's sports not being for hobbled men was 'uncivl'. Those words were shamefully stolen from something I read on here before.

Thankfully the reinstated it when I asked why and asked them to send back the original text to me.. bloody censorship.

When our voices are blocked and theirs are amplified, their's is the only story that is heard and people come to believe that their own thoughts and feelings about it must be wrong. I am so sad for the future of women.

And here I am, hiding, keeping my head down so my username is not flagged as a troublemaker. Shameful.

I know @ChateauMargaux

I try to separate the difficult situations and feelings of individuals who suffer from the serious mental unease that is bodily dysphoria from Transactivist ideology. Because I’m not a transphobic monster who hates individuals. We can have some empathy for the male dysphorics because, let’s face it, to be socialised as a girl/woman in this society is to be conditioned for our minds to be constantly at odds with our bodies.

But sadly, the kind of entitlement Bridges has displayed makes it hard not to judge the entire cohort of transidentified men.

You said nothing that wasn't true, Chateau. This shit about having to be "kind" or "civil", both of which are totally subjective, is simply tosh. Facts. Truth and facts. If they're not "kind" to someone, so blinking what? They're facts. An individuals personal perspective on a fact does not change the fact.

Excellent summary of what's going on

I am all for breaking down sex stereotypes and would defend Emily's right to present in whatever way Emily feels comfortable. I would cheer loudly to see transwomen be out and included in the sport of their natal sex. For me.. that is what trans inclusion in sport should look like. Emily is not exlucded from cycling, recent races have shown this to be true.

If Emily chooses to alter her body in a way that makes Emily no longer competitive.. then that is a choice that is their's alone to make. It may be related to a psychological disorder or to factors that are beyond Emily's control, but in the end, it is a choice. Many other people have to make choices between financial stability, family, mental health, education and the rigorous of training and competion in high level sport, resulting in them being excluded from top level attainment. This does not entitle them to a free pass into another competition from which they would otherwise be excluded.

Belovedfool · 18/06/2022 12:34

I'm exactly the same. EB competing in the male category, where EB belongs, in whatever kit and hairstyle EB prefers......100% cheered on by me. It's clear from the images of the male cycling team EB is part of at university that this is not a problem for any of the others on the team. So what's the issue? It's not non-acceptance, is it? It's clearly not that they make EB feel unwelcome or threaten EB in any way, what with sharing facilities etc. So why doesn't EB want to continue to race with them?

It just stinks of "I WANT I WANT I WANT".

I actually think EB's mother (female parent, bore a child, absolutely 100% adult human female) is partly at the centre of this. Sports parents often put their lives on hold to support their child and it takes a lot of money and time to support a cycling child. Parents seem to almost bankrupt themselves ensuring their kids have all the opportunities they could get, and I doubt EB's parents are any different. It may be that some parents don't accept it when their investment / child doesn't make it as far as they feel they ought to, considering the sacrifices they've personally made. It's not a huge leap to imagine one or two of them grasping at anything they can do achieve their imagined "right to succeed". Competing in a different event may well be more suited to their child (an excellent swimmer who doesn't make it in the pool may move into triathalons, for example). Competing in a different sex class is probably viewed as just another opportunity, especially if your kid is ambivalent about their personal identity.

Make it zero years - because male bodies don't belong in women's sport - then I'll be happy!

Absolutely agree. Males have NO PLACE in women's sports.

Oh that tide is picking up traction.
