Wibu to complain?

Dd (4) was dropped off at nursery this morning at 8.45am by DP before he headed into work. At 10am I recieved a text from the nursery asking if she was okay?

I rang them and spoke to her keyworker and explained that to my knowledge she had been fine this morning when DP dropped her off. Had something cropped up that I was unaware of.

Keyworker became confused and stated that she had been marked absent. Then went on to say it was clearly just a clerical error and not to worry. I asked if she could go and check on her for my reassurance as we've had a few incidents lately with her opening locked doors and gates that the nursery was aware of. I was put on hold then passed to the manager who explained that there were a group of kids on an outing to the local park with staff and that she'd ring and get confirmation that she was there as she wasn't in the room with the other group of kids.

They rung back 10 minutes later in which time I'd text DP and gotten the name of the staff member who had done hand over this morning. The nursery stated that they couldn't get through to the staff and the staff member that had done handover was also with the outing. They apologised and stated again that they were sure it was just an error.

As they were on the phone to me a staff member with the party rang in and confirmed that she was definitely there. They also sent a picture to me to confirm it and apologised for the confusion as she wasn't initially meant to be in the group outing the staff member leading it had gotten confused with what groups of were meant to be merged to go.

Would I be unreasonable and overreacting to complain as until that that staff member confirmed she was with the park group. The staff on site had no idea that she was even present at nursery? Or am I overreacting?

I think it would definitely be appropriate to feedback that they should review their operating procedures for logging children in and out with all of the staff who were involved this morning.

No you are not.

There was human error in taking the roll, it happens and they texted to confirm so that was caught. However as a fire safety / evacuation list there is a timing risk.

If her named key worker supposed to be working with her and was in the room you have a massive problem.

The other problem is there is no check in place to listing the children who are taken out of building. If something happened to the staff who are with the children the office could not say who was or was not in the original groups.
