Can amazon sell knock off goods?

YABU - NO, they cannot
YANBU - Yes they can

I always thought amazon sold genuine products. I have Amazon prime and only buy stuff from there.

But I have been reading reviews on some products and noticed people saying that the product is a knockoff. Not on prime stuff.

Does anyone know?

I was in bed with HG for months so anything we needed at home came from Amazon when DH had too much on. I bought shampoo I always buy, fulfilled by Amazon and when I finally got around to washing my hair, it burnt my scalp. I'd bought it from there before but it was definitely a knock off. I realised it hadn't had a seal on the bottle.

Same with Nivea products that have come with no foil on the top although they've seemed the same, I wouldn't risk it.

I now have a general rule that I don't buy beauty/skincare products or food/drink from there at all.

I wouldn't necessarily go by whether it is fulfilled via Amazon on Prime delivery. I also check where the original/seller is based and their reviews because that can give you an indication too.

Amazon is full of counterfeiter stuff.

I would never ever buy any tech from there.

I heard from a seller that they chuck all the same items from different sellers into the same basket in the warehouse. So even if you're ordering from a seller that has genuine stock "fullfilled by Amazon", you might get counterfeit stuff anyway.

This is true, sellers who do FBA (fulfilled by Amazon where they send boxes in to Amazon to then distribute) can have their stock mixed with other sellers. It’s called co-mingling. This means genuine and fake goods can be mixed up and the picker just gets one off the shelf and it’s then sent to the buyer by “Amazon prime” (there is a label that tracks which sellers it belongs to so they get paid). This happened to me when I ordered a Sophie the giraffe and it was fake.

I was very surprised and disgusted this morning to see that amazon are selling Rebellious Hope tshirts that are not the official ones by Dame Deborah James.

Unbelievably out of order as people might not realise, and 0 of their money will go to the charity.

Report the seller to amazon.
Amazon don't get every listing so the only way they would know is if its reported

I like amazon because of the review and always have a good read before purchasing. I've never bought perfume/ toiletries off there. When I was looking at trainers that's when I noticed people saying they thought they were knock off so I bought from a genuine website.

According to Amazon they
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=G422VB5VF4ZW7ZSE#:~:text=Products%20offered%20for%20sale%20on,of%20inventory%20in%20our%20possession.

I'd think I'm safe enough with prime? That comes from their warehouse right?

The trainer review I saw offered Prime delivery.

I'm thinking things 'sold by amazon' must be ok? Amazon is the seller.

Cosmetics/ perfume/ toiletries I have always been possibly over cautious with these. I remember a 'friend of a friend' sort of story I was told as a teen about a girl who bought eye shadow at camden market and nearly went blind. It has stayed with and scared me into my 30s! True or not I don't know but it stuck with me.
