AIBU to ask you about jet2 and seat sizes

AIBU for traffic,

Flying jet2 and thinking about the seatbelt fitting... I'm on the bigger side and might die of embarrassment if I have to ask for an extender!
Last time we flew jet2 I was pregnant and it fit (although a bit tight but I blamed the bump!). Sitting next to my toddler so space isn't too much of an issue and I'll be encroaching on his legroom as plane seats aren't built for my 33" leg at the best of times!

Anyone flew jet2 recently and struggled with the belt?

I was fine, fastened with some slack! It was the thinner seats too so leg room was much better... and 2yo happily sat on the floor most of the flight with the odd pop up to see the women behind who made a fuss of him 😂

I was so relieved the seats were so roomy and belt had lots of space too. Low profile seats are a game changer!

we flew jet2 a couple of weeks ago and my 6ft 4in 48 inch waist other half had no problems with the seat belt you should be ok

i was a size 24 and only ever needed an extender with Flybe, not with any other airline and I’ve flown with them all. Crew were discreet and no one noticed/cared. Your safety is the most important thing.

I’ve now lost weight and flying is so much more comfortable.

The only airline I found snug was Ryan air, though now I've flown premium economy (ba) they are going to all feel snug aren't they??? Should never have been tempted (£50 upgrade)

Hello,

I have just returned from a jet2 holiday and had visited numerous similar posts in the weeks before my flight looking for some sort of comment relating to jet2 seatbelt length ahead of travelling to be less anxious ahead of my flight.

I am a UK 26, 5ft 8in and was on a Boeing 747-800 Jet2 seat 26F (window seat - armrest goes up and allows an approx extra 4" of space) both to my destination and return flight. Fit in the seat with both armrests down, no issue. Seatbelt fit without an extension. The seatbelt length was approx 42-44 inches in total length. Knees were about 3" from seat in front.

Hopefully this response will provide some comfort to those travelling in the near future with jet2.

@Rach090909

Useful info but for the sake of being picky and more importantly to avoid others being confused when they maybe look at flights/bookings I assume you meant to type "737-800".

Rach090909 · 18/09/2022 09:29

Oops, yes. A typo. 737-800 is what I meant
