Covid Cert for Portugal

Hi all,
can anyone help me out. We are due to go to Portugal in July, my daughter got covid in March but not due booster till September. I registered her on the system from an antigen test as at the time they had stopped doing the pcr tests. I can't get her a recovery cert as they said she needed a pcr test to get that, even though they were not sending people for pcr's at the time. Has anyone been to Portugal recently and could you tell me are they asking for covid certs? We are flying from Ireland.

Where you're from is irrelevant. It is the rules of the country you are going to that matter. I know there were a lot of annoyed british people before vaccines were available in the UK for children. They discovered that EU countries didn't make an exception just because the UK wasn't in line with the EU in terms of who they were vaccinating.

I know that it is the rules of the country you are travelling to that apply. I was simply making the point that DD had not had a booster as she was in the UK since the OP was saying that her daughter had not yet had her booster in Ireland.

@feellikeanalienAh, grand. Your wording (DD is 14 but we're in the UK so she didn't need a booster.) suggested you thought it was because you have different rules in the UK that she didn't need the booster for Portugal. I'd hate to see anyone caught out because of a misunderstanding.

I have just done Portugal twice with DS age 12 and neither time we had to show anything. First time I was OK as he had a recovery certificate (they are valid for 6 months and I registered him for the NHS app to get it). Second time I did an antigen which didn't get checked!! You just dont know... Personally I think Portugal are done with it all... I'd wait till last minute to book an antigen and hopefully you wont need it by then :-)

I forgot to add there's been talks in the news about loosening up restrictions so these rules. So you might not actually need an Antigen test by the time July comes round but ask again here a week-ish before and I'll check.
Tbh I wouldn't worry too much!

Is that restrictions for showing covid passport you mean? We are travelling to Portugal in a few weeks, have downloaded our covid vaccine apps but hoping they'll be unnecessary anyway by the time we fly!

@MermaidEyes They've made changes here and there: dropped the Passenger Locator Form. Kids under 12 don't need anything (no certificate or test required). No added test required for anyone.
Adults still need certificates for now (and that's unlikely to change) but the OP's DD is only 14 so it might ease up for her (not saying it will but it's possible as they're young). The OP's also coming in from the EU which will always be an advantage should there be any changes.
