To ask about sleeping

Why is is that if I watch a film I can fall asleep in a few minutes on the sofa. Likewise, if I lie on top of the covers in bed in the middle of the day then I will be asleep in minutes. But, when I go to bed at night as in properly get into bed, I can like there for hours trying to get to sleep. Soooo frustrating. Anyone got any thoughts on why this happens?

The film might be helping you switch off a bit, maybe? I listen to an audiobook of something not too gripping, and that helps me fall asleep at night.

Because you aren't feeling pressured to sleep. You are associating going to bed with anxiety to sleep for some reason.

I have/ had the same. I found reading a dull book helped or sometimes I lie with the lights on for a little bit to just relax with no pressure to sleep. I find then I often drift off, and when I then wake up because the light is on I am sleepy enough to fall straight back to sleep.
