Being signed off sick, and looking /eventually starting a new role

Good morning

I've recently been signed off of work due to stress and had a few Qs I hope someone who has been in a similar position can help with...

So, during this time, if one applies for new roles, and is successful, in the time before one starts the new role etc, does one have to go back?

How does one incorporate being signed off, their notice of resignation and any annual leave they may have?
I heard of one person that did this on another team, they were off sick, didn't come back and it was later announced that they were moving to a role elsewhere.

Also how does this work if the move is internal - particularly with regards to not going back?

I really don't wish to go back. It's been a horrible, stressful time for a myriad of reasons which aren't even really the job itself being stressful but the incompetence and lack of support from the team - this isn't going to change.

I have been off for 3 weeks now, and last week was signed off until the end of the month.

Any help would be appreciated.

If it is internal notice periods don't apply, it is negotiable from one manager to another. You may have to return to your role if your fit-note expires in this interim period or to do a handover.

Thanks. Yes, my move to my current role was internal and like you said resignation don't apply in this instance. It was more with regards to returning /being off sick if moving to a new internal role which you've answered
