My neighbour who doesn't work & suffers from
depression & other issues never seems to take her Dog out for regular walks. She only has a roof terrace and I know some people have a limited space for animals. But surely this isn't fair for the dog not to be walk everyday.

Have to agree with Lauriefairycake (who incidently has just been very supportive to me on another thread about depression). Sometimes people just don't know how to break out of a depression and what seems obvious to others is not achievable when you are at the bottom of a black hole.

Feel sorry for the poor dog though, so maybe you could offer, it might break the ice for both of you.

Kiwi, i cannot not post here. I sympathise re the dog i really do. But to describe someone who suffers with Depression as lazy makes me and very hurt and upset.

I suffer with depression and i could very easily be described as lazy, i have a thread running at the moment, as i feel pretty fucking horrible just now.

It is so nice know that there are supportive people out there, but this sort of post is not helpful to me at the moment in time. It just re-enforces my feelings of self loathing.

Thanks for that!

anyone who has had to bear the brunt of my depression would be justified in describing me as not very nice. Perhaps that is why i find it so difficult to make friends.

Don't bother offering to hel, she is clearly better off without your ingorance to be quite frank.

I have a dog, he isnt walked enough, nothing to do with my depression, as he is perfectly happy, admittedly he would be alot happier with more walkies but he is very much a family member and not left outside all day. But then he spends a lot of time in the garden, i wonder if anyone might call the RSPCA.

Binkle, you do make an excellent point about taking the dog out can make you feel so much better. Before DD i had the two loveliest dogs (both rotweillers so not v popular) and walking them was the best therapy in the world for me. But it is the motivation issue that i can really understand, its a vicious circle, this woman WOULD feel much better if she could get out with her dog, i bet she wishes she could, i am in a similar position at the moment, simple tasks becoming impossible, its not my fault - i'm ill.
