Husband in hospital and I'm afraid

DH had a smallish day surgery on his leg. It did not heal . He then had a blood clot which was treated and he came home. He then had pain and swelling in his leg and groin. GP said to get to hospital for an ultrasound scan immediately and he sat waiting in A+E for 9 hours.
CAT scan done and a clot found on his lung. Injections of anticoagulants twice a day. He was booked for a echocardiogram today but it never happened and he's still in hospital for the weekend at least. I'm trying to keep calm but realising this could be serious

I'm sorry,how scary op.
But remember he is in the best place. What are you doing to keep calm/distracted? Have you eaten? Showered?

He is definitely in the best place, and on the correct medication for the clots so that will help. Will you be able to visit him over the weekend? X

His operation was in April. This is the second time he's had to go back into hospital since then. My son's got GCSE'S so I'm juggling that with caring for my mum and visiting DH in hospital (and I don't drive 😔)

That sounds tough. Hopefully the meds will kick in quickly.

In my personal experience with hospital, if it was urgent he would be dealt with by now if an operation was urgent, weekends slow down and if you're in the system on the Fridat you are kept in to be dealt with on Monday. He is in the best place, he's in the queue to be seen. Mind yourself and try not to get to stressed out xxx

They will want to keep him in hospital for a few days and probably send him home with injections, just depends how big the PE is. The echo will be done as an inpatient but that’s not urgent urgent so don’t panic. PE is serious but highly treatable when found.

Poor you, so much to deal with. Try not to worry too much about DH. He is in hospital so the best place if unwell. He will be monitored over weekend. He is on drug now to break up clots. My bil had a blood clot on lung. It did take him a long time to recover probably 3 months. The first few weeks he could not walk far but gradually went further each day.

He's got a dilated aorta. What will happen ?
