This: BBC News - Success not all about getting to top, says social mobility chief Birbalsingh

I have always thought it silly that the social mobility debate is always focussed on getting the most disadvantaged children into top universities and jobs. That will only ever help a small minority of families. Social mobility is also about the majority of people making small but significant steps up the ladder. Of course it is. But we rarely talk about it, acknowledge it or celebrate it.
(p.s. I haven't agreed with much else that she has said in the past).
