My child isn't ill!!!

My child has been sent home from nursery because he is coughing. I explained this morning that he hasn't got covid (provided test results). That he's had a chest infection. Had antibiotics over the weekend. Doc said all good to be at nursery and that he is likely to be coughing for a few weeks as small kids can't clear their throats well. Went to pick him up and they've even said themselves he is right as rain bar the cough. Came home and he is hyper, happy, eating, drinking, coughing occasionally but that's it. There's literally nothing wrong with him. I've taken unpaid leave from work. Behind now with deadlines and am spending my afternoon in a theme park with my perfectly well son. Feel like taking him back!!! Has anyone else experienced this? £50 of nursery fees down the drain for nothing.

I've had to argue this kind of thing with nursery, to the point where I had to say he's got a post infection cough and a qualified GP has confirmed he's well and can be in a childcare setting, so please show me the policy which gives you grounds to exclude him.

Similar issues with our nursery. There's not a week goes by where one of them isn't sent home for some reason. It's so bloody frustrating, they rang me half way through a law Exam last week due to my baby (teething) having a loose poo.

They also still won't accept with any medication given. So my daughter wasn't allowed Calpol or Anbesol given for teething, was expected to sit in pain instead. No other symptoms at all, so no temperature or anything like that.

I'm also sure a lot of the issues are down to staffing. Such a shame as we've really lost confidence with them whereas prior to Covid we had a lovely relationship.

We still collect from outside in the street too and have to tall through a chain fence for handover.

He's literally cartwheeling round the kitchen asking for ice cream

Take him back to nursery to show them these cartwheels he’s “literally” doing.

You want the OP to take him back to nursery to show them the cartwheels he's doing in the kitchen? How does that work?

Or do you want the OP to take him back to nursery and ask the little lad to do cartwheels infront of his nursery teacher?

Option 1 is impossible and option 2 is weird.

The OP has said he is doing cartwheels and asking for ice cream, take that at face value stop being cocky
