How do you tell if a nappy is mucousy

I've been a bit worried that my 8 week old has CMPA or another allergy. She cries a LOT and can seem especially unsettled after a feed almost as if she's in pain. She's got a rash which looks like baby acne or heat rash and she sneezes a lot too. Because of all this I've been keeping a close eye on her nappies but I don't really know what I'm meant to be looking for. They do occasionally look quite slimy and stringy but are a normal colour and have the 'seed' appearance that indicates her fat is being digested properly. I feel like I spend way too much time photographing her poop lately!

Does this sound like CMPA? I just feel like the symptoms are quite general and the GP might just think I'm overreacting.

Colic?

My GC nappies looked normal. It was bowel issues still at 7 that got her finally diagnosed. She was in pain, wouldn't be put down and had the rashes that you describe. She was also constipated and on lactose then movicol from less than a year old. It's just a matter of your GPs attitude and awareness.

Ring the health visitor for advice if unsure

Are you on Facebook? There's a cmpa group called Cmpa main group, you can post a bit of background anonymously if you'd prefer and when the post goes through can add a picture of babies nappies in the comments. Other mums/dads can help you and are a great support x

Fold in half, pull apart. If there ate stands stretching across both halves, it's mucus.
