Has anyone managed to reduce wrinkles without Botox or filler?

With facials or other treatments such as microneedling.
Having microdermabrasion tomorrow, not sure how effective the result will be.
It's my 11 lines and some crows feet that bother me.
I have had Botox and fillers before (tear trough) but I can't afford hundreds of £££ every several months (when I could get a holiday abroad for that price I find it hard to justify) and also don't want to fall into that trap where I won't be able to stop.

I'm happy to try any other treatments really, also interested in laser resurfacing and fibroblast

Research fibroblast carefully. I've heard too many stories about pitting and scarring.

Micro needling, yes. Though you'd need repeated treatments, over months, a year, to potentially see results. Filler should last longer than a few months. What have you had so far and how much?

Tretinoin if you want that sort of recommendation, argireline I always recommend as I personally like that - long haul rec. obviously.

There's quite a few things you can do to reduce the appearance of wrinkles - hydrated skin (so drink your water, make sure you're using the right moisturiser, retinol etc), sunscreen is a must too! I didn't find micro needling any better cost wise or results wise than Botox.

Any topical treatment you have might reduce the appearance of the wrinkles, but unless you're doing similar to Botox (freezing the muscles) then it's only working on the current look of them rather than preventing more from forming etc. I personally like botox, now at the stage when it's three times a year (so less than £350 a year) and it's really effective for me.

If you're swearing off Botox I'd recommend the Ordinary - glycolic acid (daily toner), the ordinary argireline (daily), the AHA and BHA peel (weekly) and the retinol. All of that will set you back about £20 ish, so worth a go if you're wanting to try more treatments. Definitely a good moisturiser (I love the Nivea crème) too.

Tretinoin. I have pics before and after
(I had Botox 3 times but haven't had any for nearly 2 years and I'm also older so the difference is still incredible!)

krill · 07/06/2022 20:32

Some of the tret results can be remarkable if can stick with it.

Tret does help, skin and me or dermatica

I really like frownies. I have botox but during lockdown when it wore off they kept my 11s from coming back so noticeably. If you put them on over your retinol and night cream I think they also help kept the products sealed in.

SunnyShiner · 07/06/2022 20:47

I'd love to see your before and afters!

TheMayoressOfCasterbridge · 07/06/2022 20:49

Which tret do people recommend?

The frownies stick over the cream securely? I like the sound of that.

Giving up alcohol made a massive difference To my skin. I wasn’t a big drinker either.

Zoooooom · 07/06/2022 20:53

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. It's under my eyes too that bothers me, the filler was great but £250. £150 for 2 areas of Botox, it all starts adding up.
I don't drink a drop of alcohol but still got these bloody lines forming and I'm 31.
Definitely going to order frownies.
Just bought some glycolic acid products too

Have never smoked either, been wearing factor 50 for over a decade, don't sunbathe. Still got the lines. Diet hasn't always been fantastic but has improved a lot over the last month.
