To ask why are you awake still

I've been up since 3am yesterday so almost 24h. I'm absolutely knackered.

3x DC who are all poorly. I'm stuck between 2 DC and keep having to settle the other one every hour.

Meanwhile my DH is in our guest bedroom snoring away as he has a very important meeting in the morning. Funny how these important meetings only seem to pop up when the children don't sleep 😂

Why are you awake? Please make me feel like I'm not alone. All of my neighbours houses look dark like they're soundly asleep 😭

@GrimDamnFanjo that's the mistake I made too. I never learn!

@MissM94 I can highly recommend keeping nice snacks to hand or a mindless TV series to watch. Anything so that you can claw a tiny bit of something nice for yourself while you're awake. Sending restful sleepy thoughts to your baby, hope you're both snoring away soundly soon.

SunflowerGardens · 07/06/2022 02:36

My almost 11 month old woke up for a bottle. I am not sure why she still wakes at night for a feed, everyone else's FF babies seem to sleep through from about 6 weeks old Confused she's gone back to lovely sleep but stupidly I looked at my phone and now I'm doom scrolling. I really must try to get back to sleep - I'll be woken up by her shouting 'ba boo!' (Peekaboo) repeatedly like a little alarm clock at 6.50am Grin

Polpette · 07/06/2022 02:37

@PeppaPigOinkOinkOink enjoy your five minutes peace and quiet, thanks for everything you do.

Meh2020 · 07/06/2022 02:37

perimenopause insomnia joint with my sleeping pattern being out of kilter over the long Jubilee Bank Holiday. I’m ruminating about a shit work situation. I can’t wait to fall asleep.

mamaneedsanap55 · 07/06/2022 02:39

@SunflowerGardens if it makes you feel better my ff 6 week old baby is nowhere near sleeping through yet. The urge to smother snoring dh gets more real by the day.

MissM94 · 07/06/2022 02:41

@Polpette ooh good suggestions, I just have Mumsnet for now 😂

SpidersAreShitheads · 07/06/2022 02:44

I have ADHD and my brain just runs away with me at night! Too many exciting things to think about and do - I'm always thinking "just two more minutes and then I'll go to bed" and then before I know it, the sun is rising!

I'm also self-employed and this time of night I can get shit loads done compared to the day when my two DC are up and about. I really do need to evolve the need to go without sleep as I'd get so much more done. All I manage to do is exhaust myself!!

SunflowerGardens · 07/06/2022 02:53

@mamaneedsanap55 I don't mind really, it's only one wake up and she goes to sleep right after. Plus she's on a special milk for CMPA that you mix with room temperature water so I just bring a bottle of water up and mix it right here in bed.

Before she started with the CMPA milk though I used to buy the ready mixed bottles for nighttime. Fuck getting out of bed in the middle of the night!

PimmsTime · 07/06/2022 02:53

Thoughts to you all out there and I too am feeding a little one, 7 weeks old and find it tiring how hungry he always is. One of my breasts is sore and he gets awful wind at the moment having been ok before!

marblemad · 07/06/2022 02:55

Anxiety induced insomnia. I constantly struggle.

Afterdinnerchocs · 07/06/2022 03:03

Abscess is keeping me awake, second night in a row. Was laid in bed but the most intense pain made me want to roll around and that's not fair to the sleeping dh and 6yr old ds who sneaked in our bed.
Phone has just told me bedtime was 3 hrs ago like I want to be awake. Oh well painkillers and try again in 45 minutes.

DD woke up with her eczema giving her grief, put loads of cream on but it's taken almost an hour to calm her down... Now she's fidgeting next to me 🙄 wide awake now, can't wait for the 6am alarm....

Sunbird24 · 07/06/2022 03:17

I woke up just before 3 as I was a bit hot, but now one of my visitors is snoring - even though it’s not particularly loud my house is usually silent so it’s bothering me. They’re here for 3 nights.

My baby isn't very well, he's spluttering each time he lays down. He's 6 weeks old and poor mite is already on an inhaler.
We're on week 2 of horrific sleeping. All day he's on me crying if I put him down.

Just as I got him off to sleep and in his cot, my husband woke up, threw the door to the ensuite wide open, light on then proceeded to trip over the floor mat.

Et voila! Baby back awake.

Feeling pretty pissed off with it. I've not had a night with more than 3 hours sleep in his 6 weeks of life, and his father just makes everything that bit worse

JoanThursday · 07/06/2022 03:41

I still haven't slept. Have now been awake since 1am. Husband is still fucking snoring. We don't have a spare bed: I'm sitting on the sofa watching it get light. I have such a busy day tomorrow (today?) I could bloody cry.

Oizys · 07/06/2022 03:43

@MissM94 I remember those days with my eldest DS1. Hang in there it does get better but right now it feels like hell.

not sure what woke me up. A bad dream o think but now I have that weird something is wrong feeling so can’t get back to sleep.’oh and my sciatic is really kicking my arse at the moment. Only comfortable position is on my back but I hate sleeping on my back

JoanThursday · 07/06/2022 03:44

... and now the dawn chorus is starting. 😫

Melminiani · 07/06/2022 03:56

@JoanThursday I feel some of your pain. I woke at 2.05 due to a chronic skin condition and my poor volatile skin has been on fire ever since. Now listening to the birds and thinking of all that I need to do tomorrow and how much harder it will be without sleep…

amysaurus87 · 07/06/2022 03:56

Can't get back to sleep after 5 month old woke up for a feed and feeling very anxious about tomorrow's train journey to see friends.

Sorry you are awake too, but you're not alone :) I can't get back to sleep either after I woke at 3a.m. I have Covid and just feeling bleurgh. Also feeling anxious about work tomorrow so can relate. Hope you're going somewhere nice?

BestIsWest · 07/06/2022 04:22

No idea, just couldn’t sleep and DH was doing some dramatic snoring. I’ve been having some issues with anxiety lately and have a sore neck so that’s not helping. Having a cuppa but need to be up in a couple of hours for work so not sure if it’s worth going back to bed.

Kerantli · 07/06/2022 04:32

DP is doing his usual snoring for England section of sleep, my insomnia is playing up, and the guls are yelling their heads off despite it only just being sunrise

helplesshopeless · 07/06/2022 04:41

Anxiety over the latest bullying and nastiness from exh over arrangements for our 4yo Sad

Giraffesandbottoms · 07/06/2022 04:50

I am 40 weeks pregnant. Both children have been sick so no sleep for 2 weeks and now…I AM SICK. Bricking it at the idea of going into labour with raging tonsillitis. Wonderful
