I need a head wobble about moving

We've been trying to move for a long time and have been outbid on a lot of houses.
Today I found out our offer has actually been accepted - so why do I feel suddenly terrified.

The move is 100 miles away, closer to my parents but away from the region my children were born in. 😐

We have no friends in new area but don't really have friends here, just a few acquaintances.

Has anyone else felt this way?

Yes! Moving long distance is scary. We moved over 200 miles away from family several years ago, and now need to move back. We've just put our house on the market and the thought of doing a major move again, even though we will be closer to family, is a really daunting prospect, as we won't be moving back to the exact same area we came from, so yet again will have to make new friends, and find new doctors, dentists, tradespeople, etc. I was OK last time until we actually left the old house, and then cried on and off, all the way to our new home. I even told my DH that we would have to put the place back on the market the next day, as I really didn't feel I would be able to cope, but then things gradually started falling into place, and we actually love it where we are, but sadly needs must, and we have to go. So while it is scary, the fact that you have children, means that you will automatically meet new people, and before you know it, things will start to feel familiar, plus being closer to your parents will help I'm sure. My advice? Grasp the new opportunities as they come up, some things won't work out, but some will, and you'll soon settle in. Will you be working in the new area, as if you are, that will help you meet new people too? Just go for it, you'll be fine!

Thank you very much for taking rhe time to write those encouraging words.
No I won't be working and dh is self employed but when we visited I saw the lady next door has a baby so fingers crossed.
I'm sure your home will be snapped up, the market is crazy at the moment.

Moving is so profoundly stressful that I don't know how anyone does it without freaking out.

This^^
I moved from Scotland to Yorkshire 20 years ago.
It felt terrifying at the time moving 200 miles especially as we didn't know anyone here but we settled.
Give yourself time OP.
