IABU Chicken Thighs

Picked them up reduced, money saving, making a curry

I've seen Saturday Kitchen - pull the skin off (save it for a crispy skin garnish) remove the bone i.e gently pull it out.
Chop chicken thigh.

6 thighs, one cut thumb, one cut finger and measly chicken portions vs chunky bones later...
I've just bunged the lot into the oven to brown. Will whack it in slow cooker and make my lovely curry from vegetables 😭

To be fair I don't have the sharpest of knives (I'm not the sharpest of knives?)

I would never buy chicken thighs with the bone in if I were intending to chop them up - it's inefficient, fiddly and you lose meat, even with a decent knife. I roast chicken thighs whole (skin on) or use them whole in a stew, chicken cacciatore etc. If I want to use chopped up chicken I'd use chicken breast, or boneless thighs.

I've actually started buying chicken thighs with skin and bones...boneless chicken thighs are twice the price.

I pull the skin off and brown in a little oil before putting into a pot.

They are the best for slow cooking, currys or anything that requires long cooking.

The meat falls off the bones with ease. No need to cut off and chop up before cooking.

600g in Aldi costs £1.99.

Most chefs prefer chicken thighs as there much more flavour and always tender.

I am a heathen. I buy chicken thighs and eat them (skin too) in gravy as a snack.

I would skin them but leave the bones in. You can pick them out easily after they are cooked.

Ah you see, that's exactly how I would normally use a thigh in a stew or curry. However

Apologies for the MASSIVE drip feed - I'm cooking this quick tray bake curry, which I have mastered with chicken breast instead of prawns. It is so easy, and tastes wonderful. I just use curry powder instead of spices.

Anyway rice is on, that took 10 times longer than expected, I A SO U, cross with myself 🤣😭

I would never attempt to bone it. Cook with bone in or buy it the lazy way.
