New Job Offer (potentially)

I had an interview the other day via a zoom call. I liked the sound of the position, but I would mainly be working alone (which doesn't bother me particularly as the job would only be 2 days per week). However, my last job was conducted via zoom during lockdown and so I never visited the offices prior to starting and I absolutely hated it (dark, dingy, no customers, odd colleagues that didn't speak etc etc.) I stuck it out for a year, but I don't want to make the same mistake again. AIBU if I was to be offered the latest job, to ask if I could possibly visit the place of work prior to accepting and maybe be shown a few basics of the role to see if it would be a good fit for me ( I don't want to waste their time or my own) does this make me sound like a diva or acceptable to ask??? I personally feel like it's important to visit where I would be working but all this zoom stuff makes it hard!

I don’t know…. I get why you would but it depends how many people you’re in competition with. For two days a week I’d probably suck it up.

It looks a bit strange and tatty from the outside (did obligatory drive by) 🤣 so just want to check out inside, the "working environment" as it were. I get it's only 2 days - but I don't want to be stuck sat in some dingy cesspit on my own either 😆

I work in recruitment and had many candidates who have arranged visits to the workplace to get a feel after they've accepted the job. One has dropped out after but in other scenarios it's helped.

Thankyou, this has made me feel more confident about asking. So, if offered, I could accept - request a visit - pull out if I don't feel it's the right fit for me.
