Depends how many special friends you have dinny

dinny · 13/01/2008 22:15

Quattrocento - just think of it in a more continental way than a swinging nouveau English way

Snice

We have a traditional round one seating 5/6.

We did have ours out in the open intially, but found we hardly used it through the winter months cos it was too windy or raining! Now we just have to dash from the house into the cabin - doors and windows open still give you a bit of that outside feeling.

snice · 13/01/2008 22:17

are you coming on to me dinny?

rantinghousewife · 13/01/2008 22:18

Your not unreasonable, maybe a bit nuts though, how old are you? Thought they were an OAP thing

Merlin · 13/01/2008 22:19

OAP thing? They wouldn't be able to climb the steps to get in! And the heat would probably make them pass out - well that's what my Mum says

rantinghousewife · 13/01/2008 22:21

I do always associate them with the recently retired though! Am I wrong

dinny · 13/01/2008 22:24

more middle-aged swingers, Ranting.

I am 35. Not a swinger though.

Snice - lol

[snigger] at too many stairs/too much heat.

rantinghousewife · 13/01/2008 22:25

If you want to swing, go right ahead. Each to their own

dinny · 13/01/2008 22:27

I don't want to swing! Bleurgh! Nooooo! But I would like a hot tub!

Dinny - we don't swing! TBH most of the time it is just me and DH, ocasionally DS.

We have had the odd raucous evening with a few friends round - but nothing to shock the neighbours

TheBlonde · 13/01/2008 22:31

Callisto · 14/01/2008 09:15

Ultra-tacky with a massive carbon footprint. Hot tubs are awful.

mosschops30 · 14/01/2008 09:16

dinny friends of ours have one and its great. I did think it was a bit cheesy but sitting in it on new years eve sipping champers with our lovely dd's and our friends i thought 'this is bloody great'

When we move to a house we plan on staying in then I will definately invest in one.

Pixel · 14/01/2008 13:17

Next door has one and the blasted thing makes our lives a misery. The first time we heard it start up we wondered what on earth was happening (in fact we have had visitors who have heard it from inside our house with the door shut and commented on the noise) and it must be on some kind of timer because it goes off at 2am as well. What with the whirring and drunken shrieking and the tinny radio turned up loud we didn't get a minute's peace in our garden last summer. Oh and their dogs yap too. I'm sure a hot tub is very nice and all but can you make sure it doesn't annoy the neighbours?
Lol at 'swingers' though. The people opposite have pampas, do you think I should introduce them?

TheGiftedandTalentedGoat · 14/01/2008 13:20

isn't just like having a massive fondue set in your back garden?
