Help! Holiday question

Am considering a holiday to France this year. I have a 6 week old and a 9 year old so was looking at a campsite/chalet at a beach resort. Would rather take the ferry than fly. Can anyone recommend any good resorts? And roughly how much did you pay? Did you go via ferry? It's between this and centre parcs and this just seems like more of a holiday vibe. Not sure how practical it'll be with a young baby though :-/

Not the answer you were necessarily hoping for but Centre Parcs Europ is a different organisation to the Uk one and a lot cheaper.

Wiki might explain when they parted company.

If we are staying in UK then centre parcs is the easy option. But it doesn't really excite me and it would purely be for ease (the nearest site to us is only about 45 minutes away and it has everything you need in one place which is handy having a small baby) but it's a lot of money to pay for a holiday I'm not especially arsed with.

France feels more holiday-ish and the price doesn't look like much more but I'm wondering how it would work logistically. I've never been to France.

We have been to France a lot but never to a campsite or chalet so can't help on that.

However, in terms of travelling don't forget that you also have the shuttle as an option if you are taking your own car. Last time we did that was just a few weeks ago and all very straightforward. We had an early trip booked and got there in good Tim e so we had no queuing and we were even put on an earlier train. It only takes about 35 minutes.

Originally we had planned to take ferry Dover Calais but with the P and O debacle we changed our mind.

Of course it depends where you are going in France. If you head to Brittany then maybe Brittany Ferries is your best option from Portsmouth

We've done a few camping trips to France. With a young baby I'd avoid Dover due to time potentially stuck in car seat. Maybe sail from Plymouth, Poole or Portsmouth depending where you live.

Last time we went with Eurocamp and did a two site holiday.
With a baby I'd probably not go further than Brittany / Normandy.

It's a relaxing holiday in my opinion, just pack your car and off you go.
