AIBU to want to only discuss the legal aspects of the JD/AH verdict?

I really enjoyed the series of threads started by @StormzyinaTCup that had a (mainly!) respectful discussion about particular legal aspects of the JD/AH defamation cases.

The last one unfortunately descended into a slanging match and was deleted 😭

If there are any of the old posters from the original threads who’d like to continue the dry and possible boring legal discussion please feel free to join in!

Let’s see how long the civility can last 😉

I was surprised that JD could claim defamation based on an article that didn't mention him by name, and was not written entirely by AH. A final technicality I admit

In her final day's testimony she said clearly that it was written about him. And the op ed contents made it clear that it was about him. As one of the witnesses said , " who else could the op ex be about - did she have another husband two years ago ?"

She hasn't paid the legal costs out of pocket. Elon Musk paid for her lawyers for the 2018 trial and these lawyers have been paid through her insurance. She bought a house recently, maybe to have an asset that can't be easily seized?

I am sure Elon won't give her more money given he was apparently heartbroken when they broke up and she said in this trial that she had never loved him.

Yes I heard her house in the desert was owned by a trust linked back to her. Because it's held within a trust I assume it can't easily be seized.
