To go on a day out where I wanted to go?

'D'H and I are currently having a disagreement, and I'm prepared to be flamed, but I'd like to know which of us is right and which of us is being unreasonable. It went along the lines of:

Me: DH, I'm going to take the children to on Thursday, would you like to come or will you be working on

DH: yes ok I will come with you.

Me: great, I will book us tickets (I then go ahead and proceed with booking tickets there and then whilst I remember)

15 minutes later when DH sits down

Me: I've booked tickets now to

DH: you've booked tickets? Why have you done that? Why does it have to be there? Why didn't you discuss it with me first? Why does it have to be where you want to go? Why can't we go somewhere else?

So am I being unreasonable in booking tickets after he agreed that he would like to go, (which incidentally are non-refundable) OR is he a PITA for not raising that he would like to discuss an alternative day out before agreeing he would like to go?

He's a PITA. You have done nothing wrong at all.

you invited him, he said yes, you booked. He's being a dick.

Did you tell him where you were planning to go in the initial conversation?

Yanbu and I would have done the same thing. My DH fannies about for a month before making any decision and I like to get things done and move on.

He doesn't need to go then does he? Find someone else who wants to go.

You were right to book. Everything gets ridiculously booked up in advance here during school hols.

Yes I specifically said "I'm taking the children to on Thursday, would you like to come?" And he said "yes"

I don't really have any friends or local family so if he doesn't want to go and decides to carry on with this big thing at home on his own, then that's just £20 odd down the drain for his ticket, it's not refundable, the kids and I will have a great time though Smile
