Need to upgrade our Ford S-Max which is on its last legs. Looking for recommendations of a good size, reliable, family car.

2 older teens and dog (plus dog crate)
Roomy boot for camping and dog
We no longer need 7 seats but do want space
Not diesel (would consider hybrid)
Preferably under £15k (obviously 2nd hand not new).

What do you think we should be looking at??

Thanks

Not sure about family sized ones but if possible I'd definitely recommend an estate if you like camping and have the dogs.
We used to go camping all the time when I was younger and we had a dog so we had an estate for this exact reason.

When I had my baby last year I also bought an estate as we have two dogs and I can fit loads in with both of them and the pram etc

We have a VW T-ROC. Boot space is non existent, really rubbish (size and shape).

I drive a BMW 3 series touring so would recommend an estate car. Depending on budget a Skoda estate might be worth looking at.

My car would be too small for you, I think. But I would highly recommend looking at Toyota hybrid models if you can find something the right size.

We’ve got a Hyundai Tuscon. Fab car and we love it.

I love my Mokka

Kia Ceed SW
70mpg
£30 yearly road tax
Boot bigger than Golf and Astra estate
Husband 6.4' and more than enough room

We have the Ford C max hybrid, love it

BeeYellowMumma · 29/05/2022 17:40

I've loved every car from Hyundai we've had. Most recently the Tucson

Rav 4. We're on our third. Brilliant cars (and we camp a lot so it ticks that box too)

Nannyamc · 29/05/2022 17:45

Rav 4 great car and space its hybrid

WeAllHaveWings · 29/05/2022 17:48

We have a ford focus estate, nice low boot with no lip that our labrador can easily jump in.

QueefofSheena · 29/05/2022 17:49

Another vote for Skoda Octavia, I had one before my current car, which is smaller. Bloody loved it.

Gingersay · 29/05/2022 17:50

Volvo V60 after years of SUVs it has been a game changer. Its so roomy the boot is massive and it's a dream to drive.

Bayleaf25 · 30/05/2022 08:44

Rav 4 sounds worth a look too.

Thanks everyone
