To think the recent changes to Air BnB will mean fewer people will book with them?

Have you looked at Air BnB in the last 2 weeks and noticed the changes they have made to the website?

I ask because I have a glamping business and since the 'summer release' I have had no bookings at all. Absolutely there are issues with the cost of living/ energy crisis but it seems a bit of a coincidence that I was getting plenty of bookings before the changes happened.

I just wondered if from a consumer point of view if the changes are making a difference? I just think it's not user friendly any more!

I do have my own website but I have stuck with Air BnB as I have always had a lot of bookings and to me as a business they work out cheaper than other platforms like Canopy and Stars etc.

Thanks!

off!

@Movinghouseatlast

if users are looking for a flex cancellation policy and put their filters on, they won’t see your listing to click on.

I don't use or support air bnb because it negatively effects the local town and ruins residential areas for locals.

I imagine there I'd a down turn in trade as foreign travel is back on, people can go where they want and not just over priced uk staycations. People remember being ripped off in 2020 & 2021 and are heading for some sun, just look at the airports to see...

Movinghouseatlast · 02/06/2022 16:36

I certainly wouldn't do flexible ever. I think we have very different offerings. None of my competitors do flexible either. Can you imagine if someone booked a fortnight's holiday in August then cancelled the day before? I run a business and its my only income!

@Movinghouseatlast

I don’t do flexible either, I’m on moderate which works well for me.

Hope you get some bookings soon. :0)

Agreed, and with it being common knowledge, people are still booking. I'd rather sit on an airport all day than be tipped off by tge British tourism trade, seems I'm not alone

So when are you off to Benidorm then? Have a good holiday!

I don’t like their new site, it was tricky to log in, had to re set a raft of passwords. The address of the place we stayed at in Malta recently was different ( less desirable) than the address on the air bnb site. They add on 36euros for cleaning- hotels don’t do that! Wherever possible I prefer to stay in a hotel or book directly.

Any bookings or still a desert @Movinghouseatlast ?

I love Airbnb. Right now I'm at a very reasonably priced, immaculate, well equipped (including non-glass chopping boards, great linens and decent kitchen knives iykyk - ) beach house in Croatia watching Wimbledon. (Go Andy!!)

I can't bear hotels, the carpeted corridors, the breakfast buffets, the other people.
