Aibu or sold as seen?

Just sold my bugaboo cam 3 pram for £100 it had everything with it and extra set to change the colour in amazing condition with footmuff adapters etc! It's been sat in storage for a good 2 years. I could have sold for more but just wanted rid for space.

From the start I knew she would be fussy as she was asking if it had scratches on the frame or any marks on the fabric!

She sent her hubby to collect and he just took it didn't ask any questions. Now she wants to return as it's missing the bumper bar but is happy with the condition.

I know it's my fault as I didn't realise it was missing but they are very cheap on eBay to buy.

AIBU? Or just sold as I seen?

If you described as everything with it then you were wrong.

if there are detailed photos she could have seen it was missing.

newbornbubble · 29/05/2022 09:09

Wasn't in pictures or description and I sold it on Facebook marketplace. I did say to her she was welcome to come and have a look and she said she would but husband just came and collected.

How and why do you have 7 unused pushchairs?
I think by unused she meant 'not being used at the moment', but I don't know why there's 7! Grin

Viostep · 29/05/2022 09:23

I would just take it back and refund her as long as it's still in the condition you sold it.

Buy a replacement bar and then re list it for sale. I'd have thought a designer pram would sell no problem. If she wants to try to find another for £100 she can crack on!

cantgetpast · 29/05/2022 09:31

I'd give her the cost of the bumper bar replacement from an actual store back ( not an eBay fake) Jobs a good one. Next time enjoy your pushchair then take it to the dump sadly.

Roselilly36 · 29/05/2022 09:32

Sold as seen, if she was concerned about the condition she could have come and viewed the item, I wonder if she is a trader and buys good quality prams at a bargain price to sell on at a profit.

TheGlitterati · 29/05/2022 09:38

Take it back and readvertise as missing the bumper bar.

Mooloolabababy · 29/05/2022 09:42

Hm, I think if you said on the description that it has everything with it when there is something missing then that's on you.
If you had said sold as seen as your description then fine, but you did state that everything was there, so as a buyer, i wouldn't expect something to be missing . You should have double checked that everything was there before you advertised it. I think you should refund.

I have found it is easy to rack them up. I am an idiot who has not once, but twice forgotten the push chair when going on holiday in the UK. I had to emergency buy cheap £10 ones from FB in the areas where we were visiting. I now have 5 prams/pushchairs. I keep listing them for free on FB but they are a bit knackered, have been used loads and during covid we did a lot of long walks over rough terrain. All cosmetic damage but no one wants them.

I do hope one day I can help someone as stupid as me so keep putting them up.

Idontevenknow · 29/05/2022 10:04

Agree with some others that YABU as you listed it as having everything included, so expecting the bumper bar is not unreasonable at all

LaLaLouella · 29/05/2022 10:27

Hmmm, if it was missing a cup holder or something I'd say that you should refuse a return. But the bumper bar is a fairly fundamental part of the pram and I would expect it on there, wether it was listed individually or not. I think you are in the wrong here...

Ime selling a pram is a disaster.. Sold - and delivered - a barely used fab pushchair
. Complete with hood and footmuff. She hounded me for the instructions.. Took that over. Then wanted to know how the footmuff front bit came off. The zipper system was one way... Apparently I should have said that as she wouldn't have bought it!!
Footmuff was unused.
Never again. Now have 7 unused pushchairs at home!!

You can't leave it there! Why do you have 7 unused pushchairs?

See if a charity shop is interested.

Refund and relist as minus the bumper bar. offers around £150, well worth that, and see wht happens.

Onemoresleeptogonow · 29/05/2022 20:29

Ds is nearly 8. Haven't been able to part with them. Gathered quite a few. Did sell one on ebay.. Too much hassle to keep selling. Maybe can use for any dgc in time!! Or we have a very entitled ddog who may appreciate one when she ages a bit!
