I was holding his hair up to see what it would look like and I think he would look so different with short hair... and maybe wouldn't be so lovely anymore...

but dh keeps making noises

Sorry I know I've done a similar thread before

not at all. I kept doign the same with ds. I just can't decide if he will look as damn cute without his lovely locks.
I did chop a big bit off, but now I want it to grow back lol

colditz · 12/01/2008 21:35

Oh it's not much longer than ds2's, emkana, and ds2's is curly and makes him look like a girl, and I'm still not cutting it. Leave it, it's fine.

emkana · 12/01/2008 23:26

how old is your ds2 colditz?

Don't do it.

Emprexia · 12/01/2008 23:28

nope.. i refuse to cut my 16mo's hair even though his baby curls keep getting him mistaken for a girl.

they're gorgeous and cutting them off would mean he's grown up, and he's not!

colditz · 12/01/2008 23:35

He's nearly 21 months Emkana.

It's so long I can ponytail it

cherryredretrochick · 12/01/2008 23:36

That is fab, don't do it. I have girls so have never been under pressure to cut there hair but have friends who have cut off beatuiful curls into a crew cut. You can trim but please don't cut it all off.

dinny · 12/01/2008 23:37

I cut ds's surfer dude hair and am distraught and growing it back pronto - DON'T DO IT!!!!

coby · 12/01/2008 23:43

he's sooo cute, trim at the most IMO

dmo · 13/01/2008 00:27

my brother and girlfriend went out last wk and left their 6mth old son with my step mum

when they got back baby was asleep and step mum gave the girlfriend an envelope, on it said x's first haircut by his nana

girlfriend went mad, my step mum a week later does not see how she did wrong as its her grandchild and if he needed a haircut she could

baby had really dark curly hair now all the curls have gone

WendyWeber · 13/01/2008 00:34

He is totally gorgeous with the long hair, emkana - but would be also totally gorgeous, in a different way, with short.

He doesn't look like a girl at all, and he is still little, so you can hang in there for a bit

(DH has to have a bit of input though...)

chipmonkey · 13/01/2008 01:09

dmo, at your stepmum!

LuckyUnderpants · 13/01/2008 01:37

Dont do it! my ds2 has similar hair and i love it! my dad says it looks like a burst cushion and when he wakes up in the morning he looks like Ken Dodd

shoshe · 13/01/2008 05:37

i have a 13 month mindee that mum doesn't want to cut his hair, It is really long, and was getting in his eyes, so we just tie it back ala David Beckham, and he looks gorgeous.

seeker · 13/01/2008 07:45

He looks georgoeus. But I think that the minute he asks for it to be cut, or the minute he's old enough to realize that he's been mistaken for a girl you should cut it. And this moment will come much earlier than you think. My dd still remembers being upset and angry at being mistaken for a boy (she had very little hair until she was about 3)

Walnutshell · 13/01/2008 07:48

dmo - wha-at, really? I would go ballistic.

Had ds's hair cut too short a couple of time so now very nervous about getting it trimmed but dh just explains to barber that "his mum says leave it long" and they are very careful... Some people recommend ladies' hairdresser as more sympathetic to this quandary.

But... you might as well leave it for now anyway!
