Leisure / non-work activities and hobbies

Please help. Really struggling with what to write for a job application form, it’s asking me to outline what hobbies I have outside of work and how these will benefit the school in terms of cross curricular activities I could provide.

I don’t know what kind of things to write, what would you write?

in all honesty I have no hobbies as current job has exhausted me and I have very little time to do anything apart from zone out in front of Netflix most evenings. I just feel like not even sending the application in.

Do you keep up to date with current affairs, if so could suggest a debate club or discussion group (age dependent)

Film and critical discussion club

Do you have practical skills that you use in every day life such as meal planning and budgeting which would be great for secondary age children.

If it helps, our school have/used to have TAs helping at the following after school clubs

Lego
Minecraft
Art

Other ideas that you might be able to write about
Sports (netball, badminton, table tennis)
Art
Cooking
Book club

If you want the job, send the application!

What do you do with your weekends? Surely there's something you do other than watch telly. Send in the application anyway but for your own sanity please do something else with your life! Get rid of the netflix subscription, take up knitting in the evenings, learn some new recipes, read a book, grow some herbs. Try an audiobook whilst you're commuting. There are hundreds of things you can do to enrich your life and they don't have to be stressful. I got through about 300 audiobooks whilst doing my doctorate so lack of time and stress are not excuses.

Remember that the school don't really care what hobbies you do, they want to know what niche skills you have that might be of benefit in running a club. An answer like, "I have an interest in gardening/cooking/role-playing games/philosophy/knitting and would enjoy sharing this interest with the children will be fine. I bet there are tons of things you could do as a club.

Is it a primary school. or secondary?
Board games would probably do for both.
Arts and crafts, knitting, crochet, cookery/baking for primary school clubs.
My DD was taught to play cribbage at a senior school club.
Any sort of sports.
Geography Club.
Debating Society if you have an interest in current affairs.
Book Group, or offering to run the library.
