Saw an article about last nights eastenders, havent watched it in years but was genuinely shocked!
Surely 8pm is too early for a rape scene to be on tv?!
Am i being precious? I used to watch Eastenders from about 10 or 11 and the idea of a child that age seeing that horrifies me!
Am i the only one?

I saw the episode. It wasn't at all explicit. As an adult I knew what was happening, but I doubt a child would have realised. And there was also a warning before the episode aired.

I have never watched Eastenders but I think ANY media platform that highlights male rape to a large audience, in a sensitive, informed yet realistic way is never a negative thing.

It opens up dialogue, gives some victims that have felt too ashamed the courage to speak out and it provides a teaching opportunity for all of us. Adults and children.

Your post ignorant.

My son was in the room while it was on and it actually sparked a really important discussion, he was a bit confused at first but once he realised what was happening he said he didn’t actually know that men could be raped.
I think it’s highlighted an issue that needs encouragement to be spoken about.

The time is massively relevant because it's available on tv to children at that time.

The time shouldn't be massively relevant. Parents should be able to veto what their children are allowed to watch, whatever time of day it is. My parents managed to forbid me from watching Grange Hill as a child without me having to be in bed, since it was on in the afternoon.
