Someone I'm friends with on Facebook.. someone that was in the same circle of friends when I was perhaps 18-20 in the local pub. Don't know her much these days.

she has kids, several times a week she posts videos from presumably her phone, with her at the wheel with her kids not even strapped in properly whilst she's on her phone at the wheel. Usually gets posted to her stories on social media so no public comments on it - I'm sure I can't be the only one who thinks the same as me.

but, I am super sensitive to road safety etc. I had a relative who was in a horrific accident caused by another driver on their phone. My relative wasn't expected to survive but fortunately they did but with life long cognitive and physical disabilities. I have had other friends and relatives in awful crashes too. Know of a few people who have been killed in crashes.

but what you report? How? Would the police take it seriously? I have a friend who works as a police officer in the area where my old friend does (I live further afield now) but I don't want to seem like a busy body.

but I feel she's putting her kids (even just by not strapping them in correctly) , her own and other road users at risk.

wwyd?

Yes I would

You mean while she is actually driving? Not just parked up after school or outside the shop etc? Hands free?

Not sure what the police could/would do although maybe they would be interested enough to have a community officer have a word with her, otherwise they would have to catch her in the act wouldn't they?

Definitely whilst driving. You can see her driving if the camera is self facing and can see the surroundings moving fast! 😪

I would absolutely report it. 💯.

Do you have the relevant details to report her? Her car info, address etc?

Not really, no. I could probably get it easily enough but that might be crossing the line. I just feel that she's risking her kids life. Phone + not being strapped in!

Is she driving like at 20/30mph on main road or cruising at under 5mph on a quiet road.

My dad used to do it with us and i've done it a few times with my kids.... in my very quiet close

Well if you don’t have her info, and aren’t willing to ‘cross that line’ then how are you going to report her? It’s a line worth crossing.

Give 101 a ring and ask them
