To not leave a review for my noisy trip?

I treated myself to a mini break alone a couple of weeks ago, it was a private rental in a city that I am unfamiliar with.

The listing stated that the apartment was on the high street so noise was to be expected in the EVENING.

This had me imagining restaurants and bars that close around 11-12 at the latest at a push.

It was above a NIGHTCLUB that closed at 2. I could feel the bass vibrating on my single glazed windows, everyone yelling outside smoking and music blasting in my bedroom. Even with ear plugs.

I had a terrible 2 nights sleep.
Apart from that the apartment was incredible but if I had known bed time would have been post 2 am and not much sleep after that I wouldn’t have booked it. My neighbours were also really loud but that’s not the hosts fault.

I decided I wouldn’t write a review because I’d have to be honest that I feel the host underplayed the noise but cba to be negative.

She is now asking me to leave a review but I’d rather just forget about it.
It was not a cheap option either and quite a luxurious listing if that makes a difference.

What would you do?

P.S I did used to be fun honest.

I had a difficult stay somewhere and we left the review handwritten in the kitchen. Didnt ask for it but we actually got a bit of money off - probably tacitly- for not publishing a bad review online. tbf other reviewers had hinted about similar issues so I should have guessed.
owner needs to know, maybe give her a chance to be more honest in her listing eg "it's above a feeakin nightclub" for instance.

I’d leave a positive review that mentions the nightclub I.e
3 stars
Apartment was really beautiful and comfortable and is perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy the city late at night. Not really the place for those who want an early night as the night club and outside noise go on well into the early hours including bass felt in the apartment. It’s clear it’s priced to reflect that (hence giving 3 not 1 star)but the listing should really make it clear how late/ early the noise goes on to and just how loud it is in the apartment.

This is good wording, honest but not negative.

I stayed in similar in Shrewsbury, there was nothing in previous reviews to alert me to the noise.

Leave an honest and factual review - luxurious place, above a nightclub and the noise went on until 2am.

Leave an honest review, other people will be very grateful for it. What a ridiculous place for an apparent except for mad partygoers
