AIBU unreasonable to think that this is a photo from a perfectly ordinary leaving do and not understand what all the fuss is about.

Indeed in my place of work we had a very similar looking event a couple of weeks ago, for the first time in 30 months, even when the boss of many years left last year we didn't have drinks.

Love it OP!
Even more so, some of the replies!!

Same!🤣

@jgw1 I was made redundant from a public body around this time, I had a zoom (ffs) leaving call. I didn’t get to say goodbye properly to colleagues of 30+ years, silly me I should have had ‘a perfectly normal leaving do’ in November 2020.

You're not as funny as you think you are, OP.

I quite agree, its not one of my better ones, but one can only work with the material one is given.

No it's the replies from people falling for it that are making it 🤣

Well if you spent other working days doing the essential government work of drinking with your mates who you employ, then yes of course you should have done the same at your leaving do.

What is making people angry is that the left wing media are leading a storm in a beer mug, whilst the Prime Minister is trying to get on with the important job of enriching his mates.

What I’m finding amusing is the number of posters who haven’t realised that the OP is pulling their legs with every post. 🤣🤣

Much like the Prime Minister was yanking our chains at each of the Downing Street briefings before he went back to the essential work of drinking champagne.

It’s also a very effective way of attacking the behaviour of BoJo and his mates.

VonWeasel · 23/05/2022 21:11

Brilliant thread OP and I am loving some of the outraged responses 😂

It is important to remember that those in the picture had been working extremely long hours (sometimes as much as 2-3 hours since the last piece of cake) in the middle of a national crisis and I for one think it was good that their boss took some time out of his busy (holidaying) schedule to thank them for all the work that they had done in enriching his mates.

Ah, so it’s meant to be amusing.

Never mind.

Oh the outrage and Boris having a small glass to drink is certainly amusing, as if everyone else stuck to the rules.
